Wat Tum Sang Pedt – Diamond Cave Temple

Wat Tum Sang Pedt in English is, Diamond Cave Temple. There is a small cave where the walls appear to be sparkling like diamonds.

HERE is our more complete page on this Buddhist Temple >

This is one of those Buddhist temples that are not on any tourist route – not on the tours, and usually no tourists come to visit the monks at this temple. It’s a good place to stop – even if you’re not Buddhist, just to see the cool temple grounds.

After you see the cave you can either walk around the outside of the limestone karst and explore small cave openings or walk around the perimeter and see the rest of the grounds (highly recommended for the exercise and to see something nobody else will). They don’t have Buddhist amulets for sale, but you can get those at Tiger Cave Temple >

There are a handful of monks and nuns (majee) here at this temple. You have to watch the video to see how to find the cave with the diamond walls. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get in there during the video filming, but, if you ask a monk there – they can let you in if the door is locked. I didn’t have much time. Probably better if I don’t spoil the whole experience for you by showing it on video anyway – right?

There is no charge to enter this temple – it is free. PLEASE leave a 50 baht donation per person to help them get along. Tourists that visit Buddhist temples don’t usually give donations for some reason. If you got something nice out of stopping by – you really need to give 50 THB to say thanks. At least I hope you feel that way too.

Directions:

There is a Google map below showing exactly how to reach this small temple. It is right off the main road leading to Huay Toh waterfall in Krabi, Thailand. It is a rather hidden driveway down a hill, but, if you watch the video – you’ll know what to look for. The temple is located on the left hand side of the road as you’re going toward the waterfall. It is about 6km up the road once you turn left from Highway 4, after coming from Krabi town.
